Also known as Sewer Rat. Introduced species. Found in cities and towns in wetter areas of Australia, but avoids tropics. also wet grassland and along creeks. Mostly nocturnal, terrestrial, gregarious. Nests in extensive burrows. Not a good climber but good swimmer.Omnivorous.
