Also known as Native Cat or Eastern Native Cat. Formerly common in eastern Australia but now probably extinct except in Tasmania, where common and secure. Mostly solitary, largely nocturnal and territorial. Opportunistic omnivore, eating mostly arthropods and fruit, some small vertebrates and carrion.
