Formerly widespread from Shark Bay across the centre to junction of Murray-Darling but declined drastically in 1800s until only on Franklin Island; reintroduced on several islands and in sites in SA, WA and NSW. Vulnerable. Mostly nocturnal, herbivorous, gregarious.
