Patchily distributed in semi-arid scrubland and mallee in s Nullarbor Plain, Eyre and York Peninsula (SA), Murray Mallee (SA) and far sw NSW. Mainly crepuscular and nocturnal, solitary. Shelters in large burrows, clusters to form warrens.
