AUSTRALIAN MAMMALS 77
Introduced species, largest of deer in Australia. Populations found in Grampians NP, w. Victoria, and in headwaters of Mary and Brisbane Rivers, Queensland; locally common. opportunistic herbivores, graze and browses on wide range of foliage and bark of plants and lichen and fungi. Gregarious in small single-sex herds for much of year.
