Also known as Great Grey Kangaroo and in Tasmania as Forester. Widespread and common in e Australia, including e. Tasmania. Mostly in higher rainfall open forest, woodland, farmland but extends into semi-arid w. NSW. Nocturnal and crepuscular, gregarious, large mobs where food is abundant; dominance hierarchy amongst males.
