Also known as Brindled Bandicoot. Common in wet tropical and subtropical forest, woodland, scrub, grassland and gardens across n. and e, Australia from n. Kimberley (WA) to Hawkesbury River (NSW). Mostly nocturnal, solitary, territorial and aggressive. Omnivorous, digs in topsoil for anthropoids, tubers, fruits and seeds.
